Practitioner Overview
Sri Ramulu Posham (known to families as Dr Sri Ramulu) began practising Ayurveda in 1975 in Suryapet. He now also consults at a second location in Mansoorabad (LB Nagar), Hyderabad on weekends. There is no consultation fee.
His training follows the guru parampara tradition — knowledge received directly from a teacher through years of observation and assisted practice, not from textbooks alone. He applies classical Ayurvedic principles in every consultation, drawing from a repertoire of traditional preparations including kashayams, churnas, lehyams, tailams, and ghritams.
Most families first visit through personal referrals — a relative, friend, or neighbour who has consulted here before. The clinic has never advertised. Over five decades, grandparents, their children, and now grandchildren have continued to visit.
Experience and Clinical Approach
Five decades of daily consultation have shaped a practical understanding of how Ayurvedic principles apply to real health concerns. Dr Sri Ramulu has observed how conditions present differently across age groups, seasons, and family backgrounds — and which approaches produce steady improvement.
In Ayurveda, two people with the same symptoms may need entirely different guidance based on their prakriti (constitution), agni (digestive capacity), and how their imbalance developed. Dr Sri Ramulu applies this principle practically — adjusting formulations, dietary guidance, and follow-up timing for each person rather than following a fixed protocol.
Formulations are selected based on the individual's specific condition, constitution, and stage of imbalance. Each is chosen with care and adjusted as the person responds over time. This is not a standard prescription — it is an ongoing process of assessment and refinement.
What Happens During a Consultation
Each consultation typically lasts 30 to 45 minutes. Dr Sri Ramulu reviews the person's full history before offering any guidance. He covers:
- Present concerns and how long they have been present
- Previous treatments tried and their outcomes
- Daily routine, diet, sleep patterns, and emotional state
- Family health history and recurring patterns
- Physical assessment including nadi pariksha (pulse examination)
After assessment, he explains his approach, discusses the formulations he is prescribing, and outlines a follow-up plan. Follow-up is not optional — it is how care is adjusted and progress is tracked.

The Tradition He Carries
Dr Sri Ramulu's practice is shaped by guru parampara — knowledge transmitted through direct experience under a teacher's guidance. This includes an understanding of rare formulation methods, seasonal adjustments to medicines, and the art of reading a patient's constitution — skills that develop only through decades of guided practice.
This lineage-based learning gives the practice a depth that formal education alone cannot provide. The formulations, diagnostic methods, and treatment philosophy he uses today carry the precision and care with which they were originally taught to him.
